USE THE STAPLER RIGHT, OR I HATE YOU.

This page is created for everyone who doesn't know how to use stapler! Very few documents I see are stapled together half-decently, and stapling correctly takes no more time or thinking than stapling incorrectly. Here is how to use a stapler, and if you cannot follow along, then you are an idiot!

1. Either pick up the stapler or make sure it is on a flat surface and nothing is in the way of it.
2. Knock all of the sheets of the document you are about to staple together, so that all edges are in line.
3. Holding the pages together slide them into the stapler at a 45° angle about an inch, but not so far as to let any text be covered when the front pages are folded back.
4. Push down or squeeze if in hand.

The physics of stapling:
Stapling at 45° gives the longest fold line.
The longest fold line and folding along the staple give the maximum strength to the fold.

The following are pictures of magazine pages used as examples of how NOT to staple:

If you still don't understand the correct way to staple and can't figure out what's wrong in each of the pictures above, then the world may be a better place without you. Say NO to reproduction. I can't believe I took the time to make this page.
